Research Interests

Sangwoo Lee is a quantitative educationalist / education economist specialised in educational inequalities, higher education policies, intergenerational social mobility, and labour economics. He mainly undertakes research into how we can improve students’ academic achievement, help them develop the skills they need in the labour market, and reduce socioeconomic gaps in educational achievements and labour market outcomes. He has a particular interest in researching inequalities we see in access to and success in higher education mainly in developed contexts. He also studies the economic and social outcomes from education as well as job qualities in the 21st century. Before joining UCL, Sangwoo Lee obtained his PhD from the University of Cambridge, EdM from Harvard University, and BA from Grinnell College.
